Was at Bob Kato’s Drawing Club again and I decided to change it up and use sharpie and prismacolor markers.  Jee Teo came in modeled as a polynesian dancer.  Funny thing though is that it was fitting since it felt like Hawaii: it was so stuffy tonight.

I think today was successful round of drawing because I stuck with the new medium throughout the whole session and drew without any worries.  I wasn’t so much worried about getting the perfect line as much as trying to have fun drawing. I wasn’t there to impress people with my drawings, I was there to improve my drawing skills.  And if people like my drawings, awesome.  As a side note, I did quite a bit of “plus-ing” on a few drawings.  Which ones? I’ll let you figure it out.

For more information on plus-ing, visit: http://www.cre8tivemarks.com and purchase “The Art and Feel of Making it Real” by Mark McDonnell.

Anyways, it’s  kinda refreshing to just draw with analog materials when you spend 8 hours in front of a computer screen.  So let me know what you guys think and until then, cheers.

Mmm, I think that’s a good state of mind to approach drawing in. And these are very nice sketches, with attitude, action and character. You’re really getting a lot out of all this gesture drawing. Great work!
