mini sketchbook…big dump!
So I recently bought myself a pocket-sized sketchbook for more on-the-go doodles. I thought it would be a nice way to sketch without really worrying about detail and focus more on free form sketching. Anyways, here are some excerpts from the past 2 days. It’s been relaxing to draw in such a small sketchbook since the pages are so small.
Since the pages are so small, I don’t worry so much about producing a good drawing. It’s because the artist in me that gets self-conscious about having bad pages in normal-sized sketchbooks: bigger pages amplify my bad drawings. When I draw on smaller sheets, I don’t feel bad about sketches that don’t work because not much time was invested in the doodle.
Drawing on a smaller sketchbook allows my mind to fly autopilot and just see where the lines will take me.
