day 1: New Years Drawing Challenge redux
So it’s been a while. Sorry for the lack of updates, I’ve just been swamped with things this past semester. For a quick recap:
- finished up my internship at Titmouse
- took way too many classes for my liking
- forgot how good sleep was
Anyways, it’s twenty-ten and that means it’s time for my New Year’s Drawing Challenge. It’s a nice way to get my creativity flowing and crank out some semi-decent stuff. The idea behind it is to post new art every day for the month of January.
So for day 1, I decided to work on some character poses. I tried incorporating foreshortening and perspective to make the poses dynamic. It’s something I got inspired by when I was at the latter half of my internship at Titmouse. I was doing the cleanup work on some animation by two talented character animators named Jeremy Polgar and Ben Li.
Whether or not my poses are dynamic is up to debate, but it’s a start. Anyways, tune in tomorrow for another post.
So to all you coolkids, Happy New Year!!
