Got around to finishing my lunchtime speedpaint from Thursday. I wasn’t too thrilled about the crown, so I decided to add something more ridiculous: a propeller hat. I think it adds more of an element of innocence to the creature. If someone decided to splice the genes of Sloth and the Incredible Hulk, I’d like to think this would be the outcome.
If I don’t totally botch something in the drawing stage, my average rate seems to be 3-4 hours per character render.
So let me know what you guys think.
Bakers dozen!!! Whaddup!?!?

For those that follow the blog, luchadog has been floating around the blog since early 2009 during my New Year’s Sketch Challenge.
Day 20 Creature
And made another cameo here
the late night draw and a quick case of the updates
I finally got around doing a polished render of luchadog. If you click on the links, you can see the evolution of this guy as well as my own drawing.
Sidenote, drawing horns in perspective is a nightmare. I think I spent way too much time on that design element and I’m not sure if I even nailed it.
Let me know what you guys think. Cheers
Dirty Dozen in the bag! Way more to go

Everyone has their own views on what aliens look like: I think mine are fans of the Jabbawockeez and like to wear scarves. After doing speedpaints during the week. It was kind of refreshing to paint without a time limit. I ended up finalizing the lunchtime paint at a starbucks after my internship. In total, it took me about 4 hours to take this sucker to completion.
As I said before, you gotta wait a few hours before attempting to do anything remotely productive after eating del taco.
It’s the beginning of the weekend and I’ve got some paintings to finalize. Keep creating!!! cheers.
11 on 9/11, how trippy. 989 more to go

doing anything after eating del taco is harder than it sounds… especially on a friday.
for anyone concerned because i’ve been only posting quickpaints: i’m still gonna continue doing more polished work. It seems as if the weekends are the only time I can just sit in front of my computer for hours and paint.
look for some finished stuff during the weekend.
cheers

had 20 minutes left in my lunchbreak, so i grabbed a doodle from my sketchbook and decided to see what would happen. let me know what you guys think. enjoy
