Thundercub, I Choose You!

So this week’s titblog theme was to design a  pokemon.  So during my lunchbreak, I came up with Thundercub.  With the sword of omens he evolves into Liono.  Nuff Said.  Cheers!

Titmouse 5 Second Day Sneak Peek

Yesterday was Titmouse’s Annual 5 Second Day.  It’s a day where the studio is closed so everyone can w0rk on a 5 second animation.   Since we screen our animation on Friday, I thought I’d share the design for my 5 second day piece.  I’ll post the animation after Friday.  Until then, cheers!

A more appealing version of my Omega 9 charater.  Have a Happy New Year!

New Cintiq equals new blog post

So I was finally able to get my hands on the new cintiq.  A cintiq was probably one of the first purchases that I wanted to make when I started working.

However, many things prevented that from happening:

  • I like to buy artbooks
  • gas is a wallet killer
  • food
  • and the fact that cintiqs have been on backorder for like ever.

I decided to save up for about 2 months so I could finally buy a cintiq when  they were in stock again.  Last week, I found an online shop that had one in stock and bought it instantly.  The moment my cintiq was delivered to my house, I had the worst case of artist block.  Nothing came out right and I really didn’t want the first thing that I used my cintiq for was actual work-work (Titmouse has a cintiq for me to use).

So i remembered a villain I came up with during lunch: Goldbrain.

Goldbrain was the result of a conversation that went off in many tangents courtesy of one, Jeremy Polgar (visit his blog cause he’s a super talented animator and character designer).  The conversation was initially about Jeremy using fake science logic to explain the ongoings of the human brain.  And for some reason, I thought it would be cool if James Bond had a villain with a gold brain that would glow when he would think.  Since I like how the design of him came out, expect more Goldbrain related doodles to surface.

Happy New Year!

Kung Fu Elvis Remix

Kung Fu Elvis has returned and will play an integral part in a story I’m developing.  Since I’m on currently on hiatus from Titmouse, my buddy Grif suggested that I use the downtime for my own projects.   I came up Kung Fu Elvis a while ago but wasn’t too happy with the results.  At the time, he just looked like a dragon ball z character with a pompadour.  Now that I’ve had some distance from the initial idea, I came up with a better way to incorporate Elvis into a martial arts character.

He’s the arrogant pretty boy that you want to stomp a mudhole into and also the perfect villain for my story.  Anyhoo, look for more characters as I further develop my story.
