Meet Hornsby! It was my first 5 second day at Titmouse and I still can’t believe I was able to have one done in time. The last time I really animated anything was the fall of 2008. It was very nerve wracking as 5 second day approached as I had no idea of what to do. I came into the studio with no idea in sight and opened up photoshop to get some inspiration. Luckily I designed Hornsby and just found a music track to animate him to. I finished animation on Monday(5 second day) and spent Tuesday after hours cleaning up the animation and adding color. I spent a little bit of Wednesday doing a quick composite job for the shadows thanks to my buddies Parker and Mike.
I’ve meaning to get back into animating stuff, so thankfully, 5 Second Day helped get that ball rolling. Let me know what you guys think. Also, check out what the other Titmice did for 5 Second Day on the titblog. http://titbloginc.blogspot.com
Yesterday was Titmouse’s Annual 5 Second Day. It’s a day where the studio is closed so everyone can w0rk on a 5 second animation. Since we screen our animation on Friday, I thought I’d share the design for my 5 second day piece. I’ll post the animation after Friday. Until then, cheers!
The sad truth about drawing is that if you don’t use it, you lose it. I found myself trying to remember how to draw during a figure drawing session last Thursday. Although a lot of struggling was involved, it’s always refreshing when you get to draw for your own enjoyment. 5 min poses with brush pen and color pencil.
So a few weeks ago, Dr Sketchy’s hosted one their figure drawing workshops at the studio I work at. It’s always refreshing when you get to draw something unrelated to the show or project you’re working on. It has been such a long while since I drew with a live model as there was quite a bit of struggling during the 3 hour session. The drawings were done in marker and brush pen. Currently employed as a clean-up artist/assistant animator at Titmouse, Inc. In my free time, when I’m not sleeping, eating, watching tv, or on the internet, sometimes I draw.
