day 12: pirate

2010_day12-copy

It’s been a while.  I’ve been drawing like crazy as of late that I haven’t even bothered  scanning in my drawings for my New Year’s Challenge.  I got into a nice drawing rhythm that I didn’t want to break the momentum.  I’m Filipino, I’m superstitious like that.  Ask Manny Pacquiao.  Anyways, expect to see a bunch of multiple posts a day before the end of the month.

But yes, I’ve had some time to scan as I’ve been working on my portfolio.

So here’s a pirate for you scalawags.

day 11: barbarian

2010_day11

Day 11 of the New Year’s Drawing Challenge.  It’s a samurai inspired barbarian with horns.  Not much I can say about it.  After looking at the design again, I could definitely rework the horns or just get rid of it altogether.  Anyways, it’s an idea that could benefit from some more research and explore even further.

If there’s one thing I can walk away with at the end of all this challenge is that I will have a collection of ideas I can explore for my portfolio.  It’ll be fun when I start the revision stage and even take some ideas to a more complete finish.

Until the next drawing, cheers!

day 10: more swords?

2010_day10

Another overdue entry because I got lazy during the weekend.  Ah well.  Revenge stories are the best, so I thought I would create my own character for one that would take place in medieval times (the era, not the dinner and show).  You never want to mess with an angry guy wielding a sword.  Hope you guys like.  Cheers!

day 9: swordsgirl/woman/person?

2010_day09

Got lazy with the posting because of the weekend, but here’s day/drawing 9 of the New Year’s Drawing Challenge.  Two things I’m a big fan of: women and swords.  And I think a lot of my geeky brethren share my sentiments of the combo.  Hopefully the drawing lives up to it.  Cheers

day 8: she’s only smiling cause she’ll kill you

2010_day08web

This drawing took longer than I would have liked.  Drawing guns, especially 2 of them, and female hair has never been a strong suit of mine.   As you can tell by the heavy line inconsistencies in those areas.  It means I’m gonna have to redraw those trouble spots.  Hopefully some flash cleanup will do wonders for that.  Anyways, thought I would change it up by drawing a female character for a change.  So until next drawing, cheers!
