So the Friday before Christmas was officially my last day of class until the New Year and I’ve been catching up on some much needed sleep ever since. Aside from that, I’ve just started drawing in a new sketchbook (I’m dorky and I take excitement in such things). Even though my drawings aren’t so great, toned paper does make it look a lot more interesting than my previous sketchbook. Anyways, I hope to post some of the stuff I’m working on for my character design portfolio and I think that’ll make my website a little more complete. So (for the few people that read this thing) stay tuned for some quasi cool stuff. Happy Holidays.

So it’s finals week at Santa Monica College and I’m freakin swamped as hell. It’s my fault for signing up for so many classes this semester, and chances are that I’m going to do it again next semester. Anyways, I decided to post some pages from my Figure in Motion portfolio. I still have a bad habit of the scratchy line. If you got any tips in fixing that, it would be much appreciated. Anyways, after this week is over, I’ll have the time to post some character designs I’ve been working on for my portfolio. Cheers.

After looking at the blogs of character designers like David Colman and Stephen Silver, I thought it would be good practice to do some memory sketching. I never got around to it until today. I was conversing with my friend, Julianne, about her webcomic, Black Rainbows, and how her recent comic was about Carl’s Jr. The first thing that popped into my head was this obese man on a bluetooth who was eating by himself. So I tried to draw out the features that stood out and here’s the product. Hopefully, memory sketching will be more of a habit in my drawing. Enjoy?
